Privacy Policy

zongo is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts and no advertising, and we never sell or share data with third parties. The only measurement is the anonymous usage events described below, which are off until you turn them on in Settings.
What we store
Our servers only ever store what you explicitly choose to share from the app — and the app always shows you what would become public, and lets you decline, before anything is sent:
- Puzzles you publish with a share link, including the name you give them.
- Scoreboard entries you submit: your solve time, the path you drew (shown as a replay to players who already solved the puzzle), and the name you chose — your Game Center name, a name you type, or no name at all, in which case each entry carries a different made-up label that can't be linked to you or to your other scores. No name is the default: a real one is published only if you enter it.
- A random player ID, created in the app and never shown publicly, so we can find your entries if you ask us to remove them.
- A social media handle (with the networks you tag it with) or a profile link, only if you choose to enter them in Settings. They are never shown publicly — we use them solely to contact you if one of your solves is featured, and you can clear them at any time.
If you never share anything, nothing about you touches our servers. A puzzle you shared can be taken back down by you at any time, from inside the app.
Anonymous usage measurement
If you switch it on, the app sends anonymous usage events to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused service based in Germany operating under the GDPR, so we can learn which puzzles are too hard and which features matter. It is off unless you turn it on in Settings, and you can turn it back off at any time.
No names, no location, no IP address, and no identifier that follows you between apps. No puzzle contents.
What we process transiently
Like any web service, our servers see the IP address of incoming requests. We use it in memory for rate limiting and abuse prevention only; it is not stored and not used to identify you. Our servers run on Fly.io in the European Union (Paris), which relays those connections as our hosting provider.
Data handled by Apple
Progress sync (iCloud) and leaderboards or achievements (Game Center), where the app offers them, are provided by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. That data lives in your Apple account, not on our servers.
Removal
A puzzle you shared online can be removed by you: delete it in the app and it is unpublished together with its scoreboard. To have your scoreboard entries removed, email your player ID (Settings → "Copy player ID") to hola@papitooo.com — the same address answers what we hold about you.
We don't keep shared data forever. Replay data is deleted six months after it is submitted, and shared puzzles that nobody ever viewed or scored on are deleted after twelve months. Puzzles people are still playing stay up. Backups used to recover from a failure may briefly still contain removed rows, and expire within 30 days.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date.
